| Ken Strasma is the President of Strategic Telemetry, which he founded in 2003 to provide
strategic advice and voter targeting services for progressive organizations and campaigns. In 2003 and 2004, Ken
and Strategic Telemetry served as the targeting director for the Kerry for President Campaign. From 1997 until he founded Strategic Telemetry in 2003, Ken Strasma served as the Research Director of the National Committee for an Effective Congress, a political action committee specializing in electoral targeting for Democratic candidates. During that time, Ken served as the technical liaison to the Democratic National Committee’s legislative redistricting office, and to IMPAC 2000, the Democrat’s congressional redistricting operation. Ken Strasma is one of the pioneers in the use of high-tech statistical modeling in Democratic campaigns. As a manager of numerous statewide, local and legislative campaigns, Ken always used the most advanced targeting techniques available in order stretch his campaigns’ resources and win in Republican-leaning districts. As director of the Minnesota House Democratic Caucus in 1996, Ken used micro-targeting to target the most likely undecided voters in a multi-district direct mail program. The success of that program helped convince him of the importance of making this sort of advanced targeting available to more managers across all levels of races. Before moving to Minnesota in 1996, Ken served as Director of the Wisconsin Senate Democratic Caucus, and, before that, as a campaign finance analyst for the Wisconsin Assembly Democratic Caucus. In 1991, he was the lead statistician for the Wisconsin Assembly Democratic redistricting team. He is the author of numerous articles and studies regarding redistricting technology and the Census. |
